Inaugural Post

Greetings! I hope that this blog will help me do a better job of keeping in touch with family and friends. A few months ago I started a job that promises some international travel (No, I'm not going to name my employer. That's how people get fired, you know.) My plan for this blog is to regale everyone with stories of my travels. Hopefully it won't take a turn for the inane or self-indulgent!

If you're wondering about my blog's name, it's a reference to an episode of the Simpsons, and Homer is the name of one of our dogs (there's a wee picture of him at the top left).
