Girls Gone Mild

I meant to post these pictures before leaving for TN for Christmas, but I got all busy and stuff. Lisa, Leslie, and I decided that the Thursday before Christmas would be Ugly Christmas Sweater Day. I was immediately sold on the idea, possibly because I was working on my second apple martini at the time.

They were harder to find that we thought. For whatever reason, Wal-Mart only sells Christmas sweaters in plus sizes. Why's that? Are zaftig women the only ones allowed to express their holiday spirit with bugle beads and sequins? I actually got mine at Burlington Coat Factory. Not plus size, but the one I "liked" only came in large or small. I went with large, because really, who wears a fitted Christmas sweater?

All sweaters this year had some additional flair on the back. I think Lisa (c) has the sweater-model-casual-pose down. Somebody call Simplicity!

A note on footwear: I actually wore my highest pointy heels to counteract the kindergarten teacher look (Lisa wore cowboy boots for a similar reason), but I'm wearing running shoes in the pics because I had to slip into something more comfortable to walk to lunch. I think I'll save my sweater for next year. Maybe Ugly Christmas Sweaters would be a great theme for a holiday party!
