Me as a Simpson's Character/Seattle Pics

Here is what Zach and I would look like if we're ever guest stars on the Simpsons:

You can create your own at The Simpson's Movie website (create your own avatar). Be forewarned that to actually get an image file, you'll have to do a screen print, paste it into a picture file, and crop out the rest of the "screen". Not exactly user friendly, but an idiot like me can do it, so you can too!

The last few weeks were a blur of multiple flights from east coast to west coast and back again. I didn't take any pictures in San Francisco because I was only there for two days and three nights. If I'd known, I would have taken my camera to the architect's offices we were working out of, because they had beautiful views of both the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges. Their whole office was fabulous actually. Architect offices are always so much fancier than engineer offices. Perhaps because engineer offices frequently have burly sun-burnt men traipsing in and out with mud all over their shoes (although few burly men would admit to traipsing). Back in my own building, they keep us engineers contained to the ugliest two floors, the "nerdery" if you will.

My second cross-country trip within one week was to Seattle to see Anne, my Washington friend who moved out there last year. She and Mike and new baby Zach are doing well. Zach was premature, but has put on more than a pound and a half and is doing great. Anne was a great tour guide of her new city and showed me all the high points. We went to Pike's Place Market, The Seattle Museum of Art, the sculpture garden, gasworks park, a weekly street fair, the Seattle Conservatory, and a movie from their International Film Festival ("Miss Gulag", a documentary about a beauty pageant in a Siberian women's prison). Fun! Click on the crazy guy below to see my pictures.
